Weren't there a handful of cheaper SG models with a satin finish and no grain filler? They weren't as 'lumpy' as the BFGs but they still looked like a project in shop class.

There are the voodoo models, but those aren't cheap.
There are faded models I think?

If you're skilled go for it, if not, buy a practice body first

Might be skilled, might just be brave.
Remember what I did to my BFG a few years ago ha ha

I think the faded series was an attempt to get a low priced USA Gibson to compete with higher priced Epis. The ones I've played were good guitars- I am not someone who likes glossy paint or binding or bling much, anyway.

I have a well used faded V, (that I bought used from a pawn shop) and it's hands down my favorite guitar ever. It's starting to get discolored in normal wear spots. I think it looks cool enough. It plays and sounds absolutely perfect for me.

I paid 4 times as much for my Natural V as I did for my faded V.

Wow, I am surprised they are that expensive. They shouldn't go for that much.

But I mean Just Look at this Beauty..... Ha ha ha it gives me a pretty special feeling with all that rough wood, and none of that plastic binding .... Ha ha ha
