Getting the nut replaced on my Strat .. effects?

I traded some stuff away and am getting a new bone nut put on my Strat, what should I notice?

If it's the CV Squire they come stock with a synthetic bone nut and truth be told they are not too bad...

How well is the factory nut cut?

Does it bind and "tink-tink" when you tune and/or bend?

I don't know how well it is cut but it binds when I do bends on the b and high e.

edit: not really I guess haha, just played for a while and there was no binding... waste of money? it's $40 of stuff I wasnt using

From a synthetic bone to real bone you should notice a bit brighter and a lit more clarity

If the new nut is cut better, you'll notice more tuning stability and better intonation accuracy. If its cut poorer then these will be worse.

Every time I've changed a plastic nut to a nicely cut bone nut, the improvement is worthwhile.

It's almost something that's hard to put your finger on, but the tone and feel seem better. If you think about it, the nut is a major player in the overall tone of the guitar because it anchors all your notes to the neck.

I'm a huge fan of bone nuts, and wish every single guitar I owned had one. Most of my main players do.

You'll notice that it looks nicer. As far as performance, the material won't matter as much as will having it installed and slotted properly.
