GFS NYIII magnet orientation help

I have a GFS NYIII pickup. It has two smaller magnets on the outside and one bigger magnet on the inside. My question is are any of the magnets supposed to repel each other? I tried emailing GFS but I get error messages.

Re: GFS NYIII magnet orientation help

Both edge ones should repel onto the poles. You do not want any side having mixed polarity......you get virtually no signal that way.

I’m confused. I tried several different orientations and couldn’t hear a difference. Currently, I have it to where all the magnets are to where the two outside ones are not repelled by the center magnet.

Re: GFS NYIII magnet orientation help

Odd.....you should be polarising each side with the same orientation. The outside mags are just reinforcing the charge of the centre.
This is the same as the p90.....but with 2 coils.

In a p90 which I put them in attracting there was barely any signal....but that is 2 identical mags of the same strength.

So, should it be something like NS pole pieces SN pole pieces NS? Basically, the magnet next to each one repels.
