Gibraltar II bridge replacement?

Hey guys! Long time reader, first time poster. I recently scored a sweet Ibanez DT420 Destroyer on eBay and I'm absolutely loving it! Only problem I have with it is that the gold hardware is kinda rusty/corroded which is natural since it's a 2002 model. Purely aesthetic, yet it really irks me! The tuners will be easy to replace. The bridge, however, is an Ibanez Gibraltar II, and I can't find one of those anywhere!

So, finally, here's my question: Would another similar bridge fit in there? Or would that require filling the holes and redrilling?

Re: Gibraltar II bridge replacement?

Good question. I don't really know the answer but if i recall i dont think there is anything out that will be a direct replacement. Maybe measure the spacing on the anchors centre to centre and compare that with other tom style bridges.

Oh and welcome to the destroyer club. I love my dt50 its a real old school treasure.

Thanks Kramersteen, I guess it's time to do some measurements. BTW I love your custom paintjobs!

Thanks, Someone on here should know what will replace your bridge.

Destroyers are great. I have two dt50's One original i will never mess with, Only pickups changed etc.

And this one which has since been refinished, you can see it in signuture

Get in touch with Rich Harris at ibanezrules.com, he has many different Ibanez parts in stock. Orval Engling at mr-ibanez.com is another good source; I got some obscure stuff from him. He specializes in old 70s/80s parts but may have what you're looking for, as the Gibraltar II type bridge was used on some old Artists (both hollow (like AM) and solid ones).

Ashurbanipal thanks so much, I really appreciate the info! Chris, I can do simple electronic stuff, but that's way out of my league! But it's alright, my Hellraiser and Warmoth strat have Floyds.
