Gibson 2019 line-up

Re: Gibson 2019 line-up

Yeah, I think they are limiting themselves to models that have reached outrageous prices on the used market at present. The only Pacer I can see them pull would be a late-era candy blue Pacer Deluxe, for the five fans of Reb Beach out there (the undersigned included).

Re: Gibson 2019 line-up

I love that FF Blue Pacer D Reb had and Id love to have one myself, not because of him but I just like that color a lot.

Any of the Flip Flop colors would be sweet.Which for those unfamiliar was Pink, Red, White, Blue... it pretty much consists of a base color and a clear coat with pearl in it so when the light hits it, it changes colors and gets a purplish hue to it, hence the name Flip/flop...but yea any of those colors would be cool to see offered again in addition to their full color lineup..

They have such a vast catalog and legacy to draw from, so if they got their stuff together and made a better attempt I'm sure they'd have no problems reviving it and building it up to flourish, but they seem to be shooting themselves in the foot from the jump.

Just sucks cause I know this summer its going to be hot due to global warming so when my nads are sticking to my leg I'll have to send Gibson/Kramer a thank you card for cutting down those trees in order to make these wonderful guitars. Hope its worth it.

Re: Gibson 2019 line-up

Yeah, I really like them, even though I am personally partial to candy apple colours. I have long said that what Kramer should have done was to reinvent themselves as a Warmoth-type operation, where people could order parts from different eras. After all, the bodies and necks for most of the Pacers and Barettas were identical or limited to a few body types in any given year. I guess there is little chance of something that ambitious with Charvel oversaturating the superstrat market.

Re: Gibson 2019 line-up

Yea exactly! Ive been saying that for years. If Kramer, Jackson, Charvel, and BCRich would offer a $1500 Made in USA bolt-on with a broad spec sheet, much like what Carvin does or did, that they'd have a hard time keeping up with demand.

As with Kramer, each of those companies have a vast catalog and legacy to draw from so they could most certainly be able to give the people what they want. They have die hard fans who either sold their guitar they used to have or its younger guys much like myself who just missed them by a few years as well as even younger guys just now getting into this stuff, so the demographic is there.

OR.... a back-to-basics, single pickup, fixed bridge (or vintage tremolo) for $1250

Hell use the JB/59 hybrid and add a 3-way to switch Humbucker/Split 59/Split JB

Re: Gibson 2019 line-up

I was wondering how long it would be before metalchurch79 chimed in here??? LOL!!!

As I said before: your Kramers are safe for sure!!!

A "re-issue" to me means an exact, but newer, copy of the original. And as far as the re-issue Nightswans are concerned: it would seem that there are more differences than there are similarities between the re-issues and the originals. Frankly I think it's a deliberate attempt to mislead. If anything and to be fair to Joe Public: they should be being marketed and sold as "Nightswan III" maybe???

Re: Gibson 2019 line-up

As far as the reissue Nightswans are concerned, Id be surpised if it makes the cut for production because theres so much BS surrounding the name Nightswan and everyone wants a piece of the action and Im sure you can guess some of them.

My friend is at NAMM and he is supposed to check these Kramers out and see where theyre made, because we all know that wont be mentioned any where online or on those videos.

There were a fair amount of old Kramer workers who wanted to be part of getting the brand back in order, but they were brushed aside because apparently they didnt need their help. <there’s more to that but Im not getting into it.

They could atleast plant some trees or something to somewhat make this right. Hahaha!

That’s crazy.
If I’m the new CEO of Gibson I would have absolutely called the old Kramer employees back. I mean, why wouldn’t you at the very least want their input ...?
