These are the stock 61 Zebra humbuckers from my 2015 L.P.M....
When I first got it I tried to get some information on them like the resistance & overall tone profile but what little tidbits of info that I could find were pretty few & far between. Now that I've got them pulled & have access to the wires I thought I'd put this out there in case someone else finds themselves in a similar position....
I guess if I was to compare them with something Duncan I suppose a 59 set would be pretty close to what you'll get from these, perhaps a little more aggressive and not quite as scooped???
BRIDGE- 7.75K
NECK- 7.5K
The 61's came stock on most of Gibson's lower end models between 2013-2016. I believe they came on some higher priced fiddles as well but we're kinda phased out by the 57's, like the 57's the 61's are members of the Burstbucker family & essentially reissued P.A.F.'s.... The fact that they put them on things like the C.M. would make you think that they are sucky but IMHO they are 10X the humbuckers that any of the other Burstbucker's are! They are not nearly as safe & boring as the 57's and they have a bit more edge to them...
They're vintage wound & come with polished A5's inside. The offset coils to give you that unbalanced P.A.F. tone but unlike most of other Burstbuckers the screw coil is the predominant coil out of the two, which makes the neck a bit fatter and gives the bridge more bite! It also means that they sound terrific split if that's something that you're after. Personally I think Gibsons should have three different sounds when your not playing with tone controls & Push/Pull knobs on a L.P. or any solid body Gibson is just utter sacrilege!!! There again I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion? LOL!!!
