Gibson Adam Jones Les Paul Custom

Sweetwater posted this on their Facebook page.

We are heartbroken to report that a pallet containing 13 Gibson Adam Jones 1979 Les Paul Custom guitars in Silverburst were stolen at a Travel Center while en route to our campus. These guitars were the dream guitars of 13 avid Gibson and Adam Jones fans so we have decided to publish the serial numbers of the stolen guitars and are appealing to all music-makers to keep an eye out for them on popular resale websites.
Fans should ask any third-party sellers for a serial number before purchasing. Anyone with information regarding the guitars should contact Detective Kenny Polley of the Whiteland Police Department at kpolley@whitelandpd.us or (317) 535-8100.

The signed / aged are all the same serial, so no way to detect if it's stolen.

This one is in Indianapolis (where Sweetwater is): https://reverb.com/item/36664007-adam-jones-gibson-les-paul-custom-silverburst-2020-signed-and-aged

Adam Jones is a great guitarist and all, but I'm just not impressed with that guitar. Way over priced, like all Gibsons. You can get so much better gear and quality guitars for that kind of cash. Multiple.

How are overpriced? Maybe for you and your needs. For us that find value in the instrument, the pricing is fine. Better gear and quality is a subjective view.

While I am really an LP or Tool fan, I would absolutely hate if I finally bought a guitar of a lifetime and it got stolen on the way to the dealer.

There it is!

That’ll be like Ace’s Budokhan or the Pearly Gates, it’ll go up in value.

Adam Jones is a big influence on my playing as well.

Ace Frehley, Billy Gibbons, Adam Jones.

"One of these things, is not like the others, which one is it, can you tell..."

And again - remember: I own AF Aged Budokan #16. Frehley, Page, Gibbons, Slash, there are people who command that kind of scratch, and then there are the rest. The cost of making the guitar is the same...

I HATE green silver bursts.

It doesn’t matter how you feel about the players, all that matters is supply and demand. I was referring to your Les Paul above, you could sell it for more than you paid for it in all likelihood. I regret not buying the Gibson AFD when it was released, they go for more than new now even if they’ve been played a bunch. This issue for the Adam Jones guitar was sold out through preorders before it arrived at stores. If another run happens that will change the equation, but I’d be reasonably confident that anyone who has one now is in good shape.

Agreed! Billy Gibbons is far above and beyond the other two... :lmao:

In terms of Guitar awesome - no argument there. Frehley is a Chuck berry retread every day of th week and twice on Sundays. Sometimes twice in the same song.

In terms of "I MUST pick up a guitar and learn to play" inspiration and pure market position power, Gibbons is light years behind Frehley.

Jones is neither of these things.
