Gibson Angus Young on a Strat..?

Sup guys.

A good friend of mine offered me a AY Signature humbucker for the bridge of my Strat. Its MIA, with original Floyd Rose, 2 single coils and a DiMarzio H8 in the bridge. Rosewood fingerboard. Great guitar for sure.

Should i give it a shot? Is it like a JB or something like that? I love ACDC but thats not the tone im going for in the band im playing.

Geez, I thought you were going to say Angus Young was playing a Strat! Whew. Bon Scott would be turning in his grave.

Its just basically a slightly hotter gibson 57 yeah?
Can't hurt to try it out.
I had a pair of 57s in a strat. It wasn't a bad setup.

Its just a slightly hotter paf 9k ohm I think it is.

i always found the angus young pup to be thin and bright into almost everything. now if you plug it into a cranked up marshall that turns into magic since big bottles pushed hard have plenty of bottom and the top gets rounded over. maybe with 250k pots in a strat itll sound great. with 500k pots in a sg i didnt like it at all

Interesting.. So its not just a overwound paf.

I don't think it would sound all that great in a Strat myself but it certainly would not hurt anything to try it.

Don't think it'll sound anything like AC/DC in a Strat.

That being said, try it and you might be pleasantly surprised.
