Gibson Buckethead Signature LP Custom

Re: Gibson Buckethead Signature LP Custom

I would never want to own it, but it never gets old watching Buckethead play. That guy's a freakin' genius.

Re: Gibson Buckethead Signature LP Custom

wow. Gibson is putting out a lot of guitars recently...i don't really like Buckethead's guitar, but i love his playing.

Re: Gibson Buckethead Signature LP Custom

never liked that guitar. those arcade game buttons are fun to see on a guitar though

Re: Gibson Buckethead Signature LP Custom

Why does Gibson feel the need to tell us what time of glue they are using?

Which glues has a better tone? Flanklin or Elmers?

Re: Gibson Buckethead Signature LP Custom

Long scale and oversized. I'd like to lay hands on one to try it out.

I'd like to see what kind of tone they'd get out of Gorilla Glue or JB Weld, personally.

Re: Gibson Buckethead Signature LP Custom

Hmm, I've seen it said that he's got DiMarzios in his personal guitar. Anyway, it's quite nice for a LP, very minimalist - a player's guitar, not a piece of furniture. Blank ebony board is a nice touch.

I wonder why two kill switches - on his personal guitar there's only one.

Re: Gibson Buckethead Signature LP Custom

my exact thoughts:

" i wonder what that button is fo....ohhhhh buckethead. must be a killswitch."

and id like to say that that guitar is **** beautiful.

Re: Gibson Buckethead Signature LP Custom

Mmmm, arcade...

I like it.

Why do they feel the need to discuss the logo, knobs, input jack, etc.?

Are they getting ready to sell guitars without some features?

"This is a great sounding instrument! * Please note: Input jack, pickups, controls, wiring and routing for these elements is not included in the finished product."

I'd imagine it would sell well to collectors who would never need that stuff and people who would love to mod their own Les Pauls lol

Re: Gibson Buckethead Signature LP Custom

Personally, I think it looks pretty cool. I wouldn't be making much use of those arcade buttons, but it's Buckethead through and through.

Ya know what, maybe I need another cup of coffee, but screw discussions about Gibson on this forum.

Not even 6 months ago a few members as well as members of the public vehemently attacked Gibson for "being so cruel to animals by still using hide glue". Never mind that it´s still the industry standary for many applications, but Gibson actually listened and quit.

Now they merely publish which glue they´re using so as to clearly state "We´re no longer using the bones of the animal you ate last week to build your guitar, as per your wishes."

And the public reaction (who would ever expect less from our wonderfully informed populace): "**** you!! We don´t care what glue you use {Oh really???}, you´re probably just trying to screw us over somehow else."

And yet people still wonder why I and many others no longer build instruments for anybody but ourselves and are perfectly happy with that...

Haha.... when you put it that way... it is pretty funny. :laugh2:

Re: Gibson Buckethead Signature LP Custom

Do I want it? No hell no. Is there someone who wants it? I don't know...again, the sales will tell.

I always hate when the player guitar is different than the one the player actually uses. So unless Buckethead started using 500T's and added a button, I don't dig it on principle.

Kind of like a "Nuno Bettencourt" model. Who really wants this...is there a need for more than 10 of them? why not just custom shop if you are that big of a bucketfan.

As a Frehley guy - I do have applaud the vid button kill switches! Those would be fun!!!!!

And Zerb, who at Gibson is honking your Bobo? The only reason I can see for the unbelievable defense of the unbelievable is that your tool is between someones jaws. You are really starting to sound like a corporate whore for them....

Thanks for the explanation. I wondered why Gibson mentioned what glue they used too. My apologies for not having heard anything about the hide glue controversy thing until now. Thanks for bringing the rest of us who don't have quite as much time on our hands to hang out on internet forums following that sort of thing up to speed in such a courteous and considerate manner.
