Gibson cover for Seymour SH-1

Re: Gibson cover for Seymour SH-1

So, you want a Gibson embossed cover on a SD pickup in a Fender guitar?
Any reason why you want Gibson cover? You can get lots of different plain covers to fit the SH-1 at less than 1/4th the cost of Gibson.

Yes, that's it! The reason I want a Gibson cover is that, the original Coxon's Tele comes with a Gibson Pick up instead of the SH-1 Fender has used to copy it. I could also replace all the pick up but a vintage Gibson is around 300$ and I'm not sure the changes in the sound would be spectacular compared to the SH-1 but may be I'm all wrong and the vintage Gibson are much better!
You can see Coxon with his Telecaster in this video:

Re: Gibson cover for Seymour SH-1

Those embossed covers were only about for 1 year.....1972. Its on a T-top, which would be a really nice neck slot pickup. Certainly a bit of a different tone to a 59 (and to my my ears a T-top is well worth the cost), but the rarity of an embossed pickup makes them way more expensive - especially in the last 5 years or so. Even then, the covers on their own go for even more serious money, and they are position specific too - you would have to get a neck one.
Personally I would buy the whole pickup rather than just the cover. But then I like those old sticker T-tops - I have a set because 72 is my birth year.

The spacing should be the same.....49.2mm.
Its your guitar, but as said its less worth it buying just the cover merely for a look than buying the pickup complete for the tone.

Thank you very much, I think I'm gonna go for a complete pick up change but I'll have to save some money first!
