Anyone know anything about these models? I've had an offer of one for my Les Paul, but not sure how I feel about it yet.

Not a fan of the black binding myself. However, that's a great looking guitar otherwise. I've been on the search for a great ES-335 with a good deal for awhile. I absolutely love that Beale Street Blue look, but I just found a red flamed out red one to buy.
If you like the black binding, then that's cool. But like I say, I'm personally not a fan of it. You're looking at at least a $2500 guitar right there probably.......and that's with no flame.
However, that does have the trap inlays. It's really up to you man.

Technically it's a cross between a 335 & 345. The Ebony FB is unusual. I;m with Jolly on this. Don't really care for the black binding. Other then that its a real nice guitar. The 57 classics are very very nice also. I have a 359 that has the same pickups in her and she really rocks. The 335 is a vary different guitar then a Les Paul. If you are doing a straight up trade its not a bad deal. I know you are mostly playing blues and I think this would suit you well, but it all comes down to $ and how comfortable you will be with it. I own a Les Paul(2 actually) and a 335. The Pauls are great guitars and for many things the Les Paul sound is necessary, but I would much rather play a 335.
Volume also comes in to play. If you play loud and are playing on a small stage the guitar can give you some problems. It can squeal a bit if you are standing right on top of the amp. A Long chord and distance is really all you need to fix this though. great guitar!

Well I'm not new to semi-hollows at all. I'm a jazz and blues player and have played everything from 335's (though none that were my own) to the 135 I play now as my main guitar, to full hollows like the Casino and a Joe Pass signature epiphone. I just don't know the quality on these guitars.

If you read the specs, it's made like a '63, but with an ebony fingerboard and the square inlays. If you like the '59 slim taper neck, I'd say it's a keeper.
Get a nice harness for it (CTS 500K pots and either Sprague Orange Drops .022 400V or Sprague Vitamin Q .022 400V caps), put a Seth Lover set and you'll have an instrument with tone for ages to remember!

I found one on Reverb this year but the seller was total spaz never answered my emails, had Reverb reach out a few time and the next thing it was sold, total bummer so the quest still goes on. Any clues where one is ? Thanks Don S.
