hmm.. you think james got those elk skull inlays in his natural finished (i always forget the name of the dude that made it for him) explorer from his being a hunter or cos of his love for Jaegermeister?

ken lawrence? he doesnt have deer inlays on thay. the deer ones are on his black diamond plated ESP. and its probably a mix of both reaons
anyway yeah hes had a lot of stuff written on his explorers like that. EET FUK, MORE BEER, FU*K EM UP

he doesnt? i'm pretty sure it has deer inlays (my bad, that one has some cavemen inlays).. was it ken lawrence? cant remember to be honest. but the diamond plated EX came to be a LOT later than the deer/barbed wire inlays.. sometime around the black album if i recall corectly (the deer skull inlay), the diamond plated one appeared after load, he used it for the I dissapear video and cunning stunts

Nice axe! I had an early '90's one in ebony. Great guitar. Although they have some weight to them, they're nicely balanced, unlike the Firebird. Good luck with it. The stock Gibson pups are nice (500T) too. I tried a CC and an Antiquity in mine and they both sounded good as well.

Yep. That sure is a nice one. It is a Custom Shop version, based on the MOP Logo. I have a Korina one and boy is it a FAT sounding axe. A real rythym guitar for sure. I ditched the stock pickups and replaced them with a set of JB in the neck and a Duncan Distortion that Seymour sent me back in 1984. Those older pickups sound smokin!

I have one too. It's my first Explorer and I'm surprised how well-crafted and wonderfully playable they are.
I got her in November and I'm still in the "honeymoon phase." Her name is the Yeti and she makes a beautiful noise. Like I said she's my first Explorer, but it won't be my last.

NO!!!!!! absolutley not! haha. no way in hell id put EMGs in there. i still want to try them in one of my guitars sometime, but sure as hell not something as nice as this. im pretty sure im putting a JB eventually, and ill probably keep the neck pickup (i love it distorted)
