It's ok to call it how you see it ha ha ha. I deserve every bit of it.

I put new tuners and (Gibson TM ) pickups in both of them. I learned what I wanted to about them.

They sounded and played pretty darn good, for their paltry price tags.. the quilt was better than the Zakk Wylde model.
I sold the ZW one to a beginner for a lot less than I had into it.
I gave the quilt top to one of my son's friends.

Now I only "play authentic" TM again.

I find the wood of the fakes to be good

The electronics and hardware are trash

The tops are beautiful even if they are photos

I like that they are willing to mod them during the manufacturing process to custom colors
Change neck shapes or whatever

The OEM is a bit stubborn on that
Or wants to charge a small fortune

This is a problem because Gibson has failed to do both A & B above. They have, in fact, chose to basically say they own a shape and raise the prices while the quality goes down.

It strikes me that Gibson has a little bit of gall, complaining that someone is copying their body shape, when they themselves, have produced Stratocaster copies under the Epiphone name. And they come from the factory with "Gibson" on the truss rod cover. (I have the black one.)

These were really common back in the 90s. But Gibson was under different leadership then, and they had their own troubles with that guy.

I kind of want to order a Chibson Less Small with that ugly Epi "breadknife" headstock on it purely for the cringe factor!

:lmao:

Technically, they call it the "Batwing" headstock. And funny how tastes differ. I think it's one of the best looking headstocks I've seen. At least, on a Strat-style axe. :)

Truthfully, it's not *that* bad on a Strat-type, but how well do you like it on the LP I posted? LOL!

Wow, that LP is terrible. I don't understand why Gibson didn't do what Fender did with Squier right away- same headstock with a different name on it.
