Gibson Gothic revisions

Re: Gibson Gothic revisions

Don't get me wrong, I think they look good. For cosmetic purposes, I wish the Gibson logo was an inlay. That would be the only thing I would change about it.

Oh no, I meant that it's funny how all the guitars are kind of knock offs of each other. The stuff that people do want (Tribute, Gothic) is just say a studio with different features but when Gibson tries something new it's usually garbage.

I do like the looks of the SG but I wouldn't pay money for it.

Re: Gibson Gothic revisions

Love them both! My kind of guitars, simple and black. I understand they're only making 400 each? That's too bad.

Huh? Something a lot of people might actually buy and they put a limit on how many are coming out? Gibson, you guys suck at business! (I own a Gibson :bigok:)

Re: Gibson Gothic revisions

Do they still have the little picture of Orville on the back of the headstock? If not, I'll pass.

Re: Gibson Gothic revisions

So for 50$ more (around here), I can get a black standard, with a hard shell case......

.....yeah......no.

Re: Gibson Gothic revisions

I always liked the goths, voodoo and menace sans the goofy crap. I personally like that SG better than a standard, but I'd like it better with the 61 style pickguard. Gibson actives? I get the feeling they will be on par with some of the goofy ideas Gibson had in the 80's, like those v-shaped singles with the plastic covers, hahaha. I'd rock one of these for sure, but I would still rather have a MIJ ESP Viper for the same money and not have a suckish bridge and pickups.

Gibson needs to do something about their pricing.

I like this one.

Re: Gibson Gothic revisions

I'm more curious about the active pickups, than anything else. Otherwise, I'll start caring when they make a Flying V. Wouldn't mind having another model like the Voodoo.

I like this one.

I have one of those, put white bobbin SDs in mine though. The goths always seemed like solid guitars and I love the satin finish.

+1 to keeping Orville's portrait on the back of the headstock, I always thought that was a cool feature.

Re: Gibson Gothic revisions

MF has them for $1099. That's OK for a new Gibson but I'd rather a regular one unless of course those pups are the bomb and I've never heard them so I can't say.
