Gibson Humbucker Pair for Sale - 498T/R ?

i pulled the pickups out of my early 2000s gibson gothic sg, and i really have no sue for them, so onto the chopping block they go!

from what i've read, these guitars came with a 498T/R set, though some of the gothic series had a 500T in the bridge. unfortunately there are no stickers or indicators on the pickups, but i'm fairly certain its a 498T in the bridge.

both pickups have a lot of lead and have only been installed once (via the factory).

if you're interested, shoot me an offer. would prefer cash, but may be interested in a pedal trade.

CORRECTION:

the set is 490T/R, not 498.

Are they 2-wire or 4-wire? Covered or open frame?

single conductor, uncovered (black bobbins).

i slapped the multimeter on these today, but i'm still unsure of the exact model.

in any case, the readings were 8.17 & 8.48.

Average readings typically run close to 8K for a Gibson 490R and 8.5K for a Gibson 490T. They are essentially the same pickup, but the 490T has extra wire to accommodate the wider pole spacing at the bridge. Taking into account minor fluctuations due to temperature and humidity, your resistance measurements are spot on for the 490R and 490T models, which is exactly what the Gothic SG from that period was equipped with.

I think you're right on the models. I actually like the 490T bridge quite a bit, but not in the market for one right now, good luck.
