i have a chance to pick one up cheap

should i do it?

i'm kind of weary about an all maple guitar

oh and it's the l6s deluxe, the late 70's one with the rosewood & no rotary switch

Any pic? How cheap? Nothing to be afraid of with an all maple guitar

Re: gibson l6s

I played one '77-'81 almost exclusively. every day. gigged every weekend. I had original Gibby pups. It was maple w/maple board. very bright.

Re: gibson l6s

Endorsed by Keith Richards and Carlos Santana, IIRC. A piece of history - a low point, but history nonetheless.

I say get it if it's cheap. It's always fun to have something different around.

Re: gibson l6s

If it's cheap- go for it.

The pickups are Bill Lawrence designed things. A buddy I was in a band with has had his since 1990 or so. It can be a HUGE sounding guitar. I never liked the way it played or felt- but I wasn't really using the guitar- They're not too heavy, and can have really useful, unique sounds.
