Gibson Les Paul 7 String

Interesting choice of pickups. JB bridge and a 59+ in the neck. What is a 59+?

I probably would made it come stock with a SH-5 bridge and SH-2 neck

I don't care for quite a bit of that description. I can't imagine a B string on a 24.75 inch neck sounding that great? Also a JB with mahogany and a B string doesn't sound like it would have very good clarity?

The scale length isnt an issue ive tuned to Drop B on a SG without any issue at all. Sure you have to use at least a 56 or better yet a 59 or 60 but its more than doable.

The JB isnt the tightest pickup around but I wouldnt have any qualms trying it. I sure wouldnt pass judgement on it before I heard it.

Gibson is in interesting territory, trying to compete with the other Extended Range companies

With that extra tuner, it has a ton of neck-dive.

About 8 or so years ago I saw a Gibson Les Paul 7 string hanging up in a pawn shop. It looked to be a Standard with an ebony finish, just with an extra string, tuner on the treble side. Did I see a copy or have they made these before? I completely forgot about it until I read this, but I remember leaving wondering how you would tune/play such a beast, because at the time I had just started playing, and it was the first guitar I had seen with more than 6 strings.

They have made them before its not a new idea
