Gibson Les Paul Pickup replacement

I currently have an 2013 Les Paul with burstbucker pros in it, I am not overly happy with them.

I am looking to replace them with something more suitable for the music I play. I mainly play Black / Death metal and am looking for a tone reminiscent of late 80s - early 90s death metal and something which is also capable of the early era of black metal.

I have no specified budget and am also not fussy on brand (although I usually use Seymour Duncan's or Bare Knuckle).

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!

I think the Black Winters were made for you. There are more modern, focused & tight sounding pickups like the Pegasus/Sentient, but that is certainly a more percussive, thuggy sound.

Yeah - Distortion would have been my answer, except now you have Black Winters.
