I've owned a couple, both were great. I found them a tad brighter than other standards I've owned.

I'd agree with that. You'll have a much better chance of finding a great guitar if you don't restrict yourself to a small group of guitars.
I'd say you couldn't go wrong trying some out. It wouldn't hurt to try some studios, classics, standards, standard fadeds, etc and see if any in particular strike your interest. I'd say be openminded and give them all a try because who knows you may be missing out....

TC's first Faded is the exact one that I want. In fact Mr. Carrot has probably given me more cases of GAS than anybody else on this forum.
I remember, while i was working on my hardtail, double-fat Warmoth Strat, i was like two weeks into the finishing process when he showed off HIS hardtail double-fat Warmoth...hahahaha
