I think what I like about honeyburst is that it doesn't really look like a burst at all, so much as a light, natural colored wood that has aged around the edges.
I'm sure that statement sounds absolutely stupid.

battle rages on.. haha sales guy at dealer said he bypassed his rep for gibson and went over his head.. waiting on a reply. my bud is about to cave in and get the Honey. But I KNOW as soon as he does, they will say the other woulda been avail.. AND, if he waits, he wont get either.. haha The ticker is there are few on fleabay.. (a markup) $#!@!$

I'll tell you what though if you ever pickup an R6 or some other reissue you will never feel the same about the Gibson USA line again. Just sayin....

A guy on the Gibson forum said that his Goldtop order from AMS (placed 2/1) shipped yesterday.

We'll see what the rep says.. Gold is first choice. Was going to be only choice, but after really researching p90s and listening to clips, he is frothing to get one of these.. I am too, cuz I wanna play it!! haha So if the gold falls thru, he'll opt for honey..

Second report posted on Gibson forums yesterday that their AMS order had shipped.
Looks like these things are starting to come out.
I'm number 100something on the AMS list and 60something on the Wildwood list. It could be a while before either work their way down to me, but I'll keep you posted.

AMS has dent-and-scratch Black and Cherry Burst models for $669. Given that these things are pre-dented and pre-scratched from the Factory, I think that sounds like a pretty awesome deal, for anyone into those finishes.

Well, latest twist in the saga.. Spoke to the dealer yesterday. They said they spoke to a rep with Gibson (they claim they went over their normal rep's head) and they were told that Gibson has no more of the golds. Im guessing Gibson may have run a batch to fulfill the big orders for ams and places, but my bud is prolly SOL for his one lowly order with this dealer.

Wildwood got in a bunch on Friday. Picked mine out this evening. Will ship Tuesday.
