There are still quite a few yet to hit retail channels. I know Wildwood is expecting 150 total, but this shipment was only 19. And even though AMS has started shipping out to some of the earliest pre-orders, my order with them is still back ordered.

Maybe during the continuing delay, your buddy can save up the cash to pay for one outright? Even if he can't find one at a retailer, there's always eBay, though the nice looking backs seem to be commanding a premium there.

Those Honeyburst 1s are really not helping my current P90 Les Paul GAS

I'd get 1 but I just don't have £700

Im guessing they are probably all promised out to these vendors.. The local dealer is only expecting 1, so probably has NO priority. Neither of us will have means to save and buy.. So, he is kinda sunk.. Trying to decide if he wants to go into debt for a guitar thats not really his choice or not.. Cant blame him.. Im kinda getting a chub for the honeyburst..

man this sux.. Was looking on Wildwood's site and they have 4 golds.. Kind all saying nanny nanny boo boo... One thing I noticed thats REALLY shameful. The variance in build.. One they have has a gorgeous 2 piece back. 2 have 3 piece and 1 has a four piece.. Shameful. would anyone but Eric Johnson notice the difference in tone tho?

Daniel (my bud) is going to go with a Honeyburst, but he is gonna tell them that he will refuse it if its 100 piece back.

That one you thought had a 2-piece back was actually a 3. None of the 1s or 2s made it onto the site.

The one you were thinking was a 2-piece (center seam, seeminly bookmatched?) was actually one of my top 2 choices. I had Troy play them and give me his opinions and he felt that the other (the one I went with) was far superior in both feel and sound (acoustically and plugged in).

I DO care about how a guitar looks, but if the pieces are nice looking and fairly well matched, I don't care how many of them are used to make up the back.

Hmm, yeah, I noticed the description said 3, but SURE looks like 2 perfect slabs..

Oh, well... this whole thing has frustrated the heck out of me.. If it were me, Id say heck with it and not get one at all..

The third piece was along the bottom, comprising most of the horn.

I came very close to canceling my AMS order today and just buying a second from WW. But the leftover models weren't really to my liking, so I figure I'll just roll the dice. If WW gets another shipment in the meantime, though, I may still go with them for #2.

Dealer spoke to gibson and they said that would fill all orders madebefore feb 1. Mine bud's was made 4/6 and has been cancelled. He is gonna go with da honeyb


** Added update.. So, the dealer calls back a couple hours later, leaves a message: pls call me asap! Bud calls back and the sales mgr says he was calling around to the other stores looking for the honey burst and no luck.. He gets to one store and the guy says no, but I just got a gold one in today and have a guy coming to look at it tomm. mgr says, no you dont! ship it to me right away. So, supposedly there is a goldilocks coming. I told bud not to count too many chicks till the bird is in hand. so, what a roller coaster ride..We'll see
