Gibson Mini-humbuckers need rewinding and potting!

I have a set of three Gibson Les Paul Deluxe mini-humbuckers installed in a Strat. One of the pickups has quit working. All three of them need potting to stop microphonic feedback. They are all pretty old and I think two of them are patent applied for. Who would be good to do this work for me? Thanks!

a certain man named seymour duncan would be my suggestion, send the pups to the custom shop and let them work their magic. there are a good number of people who could do it for you besides the custom shop but they are the pros.

the "holy grail" patent applied for pickups are full size humbuckers, not the minis but the lp deluxe minis are great sounding pups.

I honestly didn't think SD did rewinding and potting anymore, but thanks.

Yeah, the mini-humbuckers are certainly not the same as PAF's, maybe they say 'patent pending' but I remember something being different about them. I'll check them when I take them out of the guitar. Also, I seem to recall that some of the really old mini-humbuckers, probably Epiphone, had the little "Patent Applied For" sticker as well.

oh im not saying that they couldnt have a paf sticker on there, they very well might, but it isnt as big a deal either way. i bet they are pretty cool pups! im a fan of both the lp delxue mini's and firebird pups

You know - an alternative could also be a set of SD minibuckers. Get seymour-ized!!!

all the sd mini's besides antiquitys are firebird style which is a different beast and it sounds like two of them only need a wax bath.

i do love the look of the sd covers though :friday:

That would be okay except I already have these pickups, and they're old and cool, and they sound good, and I already have a pickguard made for them. They just need some work.

A friend had Seymour Duncan rewind some Gibson pups some yrs back. He is a picky SOB, and he is completely happy w/them!

I second [or third/fourth/fifth] the notion of sending the pups to Seymour Duncan and having the custom shop rewind/pot them. They sound like some killer pups and I bet they'll be awesome when they have some work done on them.
