Hello
I have a set of Gibson 490's but do not have the height adjustment screws. The screws seem to be very thin, I checked the local hardware store with no luck and also checked StewMac but it seems they have a 1 size fits all witch will not work with Gibson's. The screws seem to be very specific to Gibson pickups. Anyone know where I can find them,, Please :dunno:

It might be the somewhat uncommon 5-32 thread. Try Mojo Music.

If you think the 490s use special height screws, you're mistaken.

HTH,

It's not the height, it's the size.
That's what I meant. It doesn't get more standard than that. Any music store that services electric guitars have those, all your have to do is ask. ;)

You're welcome, but I forgot to mention that the 5-32 I mentioned might only be for vintage-spec pickups, not the 490. I mentioned it because it sounded like you thought it was a non-standard size for some reason (but it shouldn't be). I'm not sure what threads the standard Gibson screws have, but they should be the standard screws that any guitar parts retailer has in stock. If there is any question, you can just take the pickup to a hardware store and use their thread pitch screws to figure out exactly what you need.
