they should be getting into pointy black and death metal guitars and hot rod the les paul for some METALLLLL!!! like floyd rose them and speed up the action. put some EMG's and pentagram dot inlays!!!

It's like a couple weeks ago I got a GC flyer with the Gibson Custom 75 Les Paul Deluxe Reissue for $3500. And sure while the red metal flake finish is cool, there are tons of mid 70s Deluxes on Reverb for $2500 or less

eh I got a Les Paul Trad. Pro II for $1300. This was 4 years ago and I waited for the end of year sale and blah blah blah but yea. Just in general, make a rock solid affordable something.
I get it. Fender is all bolt on so that brings prices down a bit. But at the same time, it's not an extra thousand dollars to do a set neck.

Well, I'd dig a more modern, lighter version of the Howard Roberts Fusion from the 80s. The original weighed about 11lbs, and if they built one today, it would probably cost about $5k. With some great semi-hollows now available from other companies, it makes no sense to spend that kind of money on something that isn't a vintage instrument.

Actually pretty sure they put it on SO they can upcharge... cuz, really, most people dont even care

I think everyone forgets about the Zero and M2 series guitars, they play great. I have no problem with the fretwork on my Firebird Zero, it stays in tune, it intonates like it should, costs under $500, is made in the US, and it even has Gibson on the headstock which of course makes everything sound better. What more do you want for that kind of money? Gibson has the products, they just need to stop borrowing.
There are 2 kinds of people in the world; those who understand compound interest, and those who pay it.
