Gibson pup won't feedback?

I get get awesome controlled feedback from my Duncan C5 in my fat strat, but the Gibson 498T bridge pup in my LP just creates a high pitch squeal when I'm too close to my amp or no feedback at all when I'm a good distance from my amp. Is this just the characteristic of these pickups?

I am not sure but if want feedback, get a Gibson 57 classic or plus. I installed these this weekend and they feedback more than anything I have ever tried. They didnt squeal, they just feedback alot.
