Hey.

I am saving up for a gibson guitar, and i am gonna find out which one it should be.

I have been basically arguing with my self about Metallica vs the rock bands i hear, and honestly deep inside, its rock that punching in me. So i want a guitar to use for rock/hard rock.

I like AC/DC, ZZ Top, D-A-D (Danish band) and others in that rock league.

D-A-D is my absolute favorite band.

The guitar player uses loads of different guitar, mainly Gibson ES-446, ES-135, Les Paul and Gretches.

On their heaviest album, a 135 was used, or i thinik it was a 135, could you tell me if it is?, but it was modified.

1. Bigsby installed.
2. Custom Custom in bridge (P90 neck).
3. Les Paul Taper 60 neck.

His ES-446 is modified with.

1. Stoptail.
2. Mahogany block inside.
3. Phatcat neck/Antiquity bridge.

So that made me think of getting a 135/137. I love their asthetics (badly spelled), their huge tone and the way they cut through in a sound image.

For the bands that are my inspiration, should i go for a Les Paul (Expensive) used ES-135/137 or something completely different? A ES-446?

Could a 135/137 be used for rock/hard rock without feedbacking alot?

And are they generally good guitars?

Thanks.

Here is a pic of His 135 after it got a extra pick up installed.

EDIT:

I was also thinking generally, how semi hollows like the ES-135 /137 does for rock/hard rock through ENGL's and Marshalls.

Whats the difference between ES-135/137? And which ones is generally the best?
