Gibson SG Custom w/bolt-on neck?

My friend has a late 60's/early 70's Gibson SG Custom but it seems to have a bolt-on neck. Were they any bolt-on neck SG Customs, or is it probably a repair job?

I have never seen a Gibson SG with a bolt on neck. Especially a Custom which is a higher end guitar than a Standard.

Seems like your friend may have a forgery.

look at the HS dude, it might have one of those ebay HS veneers.

I don't think I've ever seen any Gibson with a bolt on neck.....not that I can recall anyways. That sounds a little suspicious to me.

possibly one of the bunch of copies from around that period. alot of them are still good guitars though!

He brought it round to show me and, my mistake it's not bolt-on, it's glued on.

The neck has dot markers yet the Custom design on the headstock (white not inlay). It has a bigsby style trem and flimsy looking bridge.

The plate on the headstock says SG Custom but the word Custom is printed twice over itself slightly off-align. The scratchplate is definitely a replacement.

All the parts look old, could this be a late 60's/early 70's fake Gibson?

if it sounds good thats all that matters but if he paid more than like 800, he ot RIPPPPPPPPPPED

Luckily he got it in a straight swap for some cheap German guitar he used to have. He thought he was the winner of the swap, but I'm pretty sure it's fake sooo...
