The street price is down around $1200.
The story for the refin actually makes sense. When you replace the stock stoptail with a Bigsby there's two large holes left where the stoptail studs used to be. Some people leave them there, but the 'correct' way is to plug the holes with wood dowel and colour match finish. Guess this guy decided to refin the whole guitar instead.
