I am really torn between the two of these guitars. I played both of them and i really love the way they both play, and i am not sure as to which one i should get. I would appreciate it if you guys helped me out here.

MH400 most def!! I love ltd's. Were you talkin about the one with or without trem? Both would rock ass, but the TOM would be mucho better IMO. You already have a LP and Strat, so now you need a shred guitar! Ok...so the MH isn't too shred, but still! 24 frets, neck thru, duncans or emg's....its awesome! better buy, too. Every SG special (non faded) Has felt dead and toneless to me, and Gibson has even said its multi-piece mohogany.

Given the choice between the two, I'd suggest the ESP because of its cooler headstock...

...and it comes with EMG's, is neck-thru, mahogany, and plays better than the lower-end SG Special.

I say go with the ESP. Don't get me wrong I like SG's but the ESP looks sweet! It comes with EMG's as compared to the Gibson which has stock (not saying the stock p/ups are bad). And even though I can't find a price on them anywhere, my guess is the ESP will run less than the Gibson.

I think ESP are really good bang for the buck, and an MH (with floyd) i tried a few weeks ago played sweetly. Was comfortable to play all over the neck, and my other guitarist's Viper is very nice aswell. I havent had much Gibson SG experience, but i played an Epi and its was only okish, not the best guitar i'd played.

LTD's play awesome! but so do gibsons, and im a huge gibson fan so if you were talking about an SG standard then id say the SG, but i just cant pick the faded over the LTD especially since you already have a gibson.

And like said before, you could make this more of a shreddier guitar and it would be crankin with some EMG's. And those ESP LTD's really are awesome bang for the buck, they play and sound terrific!

So to go against my grain, go the LTD.

I'm not talking about the faded series, i am talking about the regualr special series.

i have played both. both are nice, but the mh-400 is really nice. great sound and shape and feel and look and.....

Sorry my bad, dont know where i got the idea of a faded from :8:

Id actually choose the SG, but i think every player should have some sort of shred/80's looking axe in their arsenal, and those ltd's play and look pretty amazingly! So while id choose the SG id probably say for you to go the ltd, its a very different guitar from a gibson, which would be a good thing to add to your arsenal ;)
