Which guitars have neck profiles similar to the ESP/LTD Thin U?

I love the neck profile on my LTD EC. I honestly play my LTD more than my Gibson because of it. I wonder what other guitars feel sorta like that?

I like that it's moderately thin with a slightly narrower nut width and bigger frets.

I vaguely remember Schecters being like that as well? But it's been ages since I've played a Schecter. The Schecter site does call their neck profile "Thin C", rather.

So what else?

Ibanez then

My Epiphone Florentine has a 60s thin C that is identical to my Ibanez Wizard II necks without the flat center

Narrow thin C is also my favorite

Which Ibanez, then?

IME, the Super Wizard, Wizard Prestige, Wizard Premium, and Wizard II I've owned have been wider and flatter than the LTD neck. Cool necks, I love them, but they're not all that similar to the LTD neck, I feel.

the Wizard II wide?

what the?

not mine

the Wizard III is wide
not the II

mine are from 2007-2008
My experience with the Wizard II was from an old S470 from the 2000's. I've played other Wizards II's too, FWIW. They do vary. They're not wide like super uncomfortably wide, but they're definitely wider than the LTD neck. The spec for the Wizard II (and III) is 43 mm wide at the nut. The LTD Thin U is 42.

I don't mean to dispute yours is rounder and C-shaped. They do vary a lot, especially since they made them at like 3 or 4 different factories. But the *average* Wizard II is more D-shaped.

Also, FWIW, I do love Ibanez necks, but I don't find them similar to the LTD Thin U neck.

alright then
but mine are 42 at the nut and a bit flat
my epi is also 42 at the nut with what they called a slim 60s C
I have the gibson Slim 60s D on my green Gibson that is not bad but not the softer shouldered C I like so much

my Ibanezes are, like i said, just like the the Slim 60s C but without the flat back

I will have to pick up an LTD to see what yours is
I aint got one

That's interesting. You might have some slightly off-spec ones. I bet they play like a dream.

Try the LTD Thin U if you can. They also vary, but I have yet to play one that isn't fantastic.

Google's AI results:

Some guitars with thin U-shaped necks include:
  • Ibanez RG Series
  • Fender American Professional Stratocaster
  • Gibson SG Modern
  • Jackson Soloist SL2
  • PRS SE Custom 24
  • Schecter Hellraiser C-1
  • ESP LTD EC-1000

Yeah for Jacksons it's really just Soloists IME , for some reason those have chunkier u-ish necks compared to other models, years ago I ordered an SL1 and it actually threw me off a bit when I got it home , I was so used to the King V neck shape (much more of a flat d), that I returned my Soloist after a couple days and ordered a King V instead.

Schecter Thin-C is super close to the ESP Thin-U profile.

I like the Wizard II/III shapes and PRS Pattern Thin/Wide Thin profiles, but my Schecters have a unique feel due to the slightly narrower nut and big frets, just like ESP/LTD.

My personal favorites are my '00s MIJ Jackson Rhoads and my new Ibanez PS-60, which has a nearly identical profile to my older Jackson by pure chance, but I still keep my Schecters around because they play and feel so dang good!

The Ibanez neck that might be similar is the old Ultra profile, which featured most prominently on the Radius guitars, and has occasionally appeared on some J. Customs and Prestige RGs in more recent times.

The old Proline models are also in the ball park, have heard them described as a mix of Ultra and old Jem.
