Standards have trapezoid inlays and binding on the neck. (And usually covered pickups) Specials have the plain neck( no binding, dot inlays) like that one - that ones a special
Like BekindRewind said, standards have binding and trapezoid inlays. The specials and fadeds are great guitars too though. Other than cosmetically, they only really differ by pickups.
If the neck binding is done correctly (no space, not even a click, between fret ends and binding nibs) then a Standard is a good instrument. Otherwise I would go with the special or an Epi.
