Whats the difference between a gibson studio les paul and a gibson standard les paul? (Sound, parts, hardware, pickups, etc.?)

Note the classics as well, they have plain tops, the "inferior" pups and the binding
Nothing wrong at all with the studios after a few tweaks. The both have the same electronics, but I've never seemed to like any of the Gibson pups.
here is what I would do:
1) play before I pay
2) get the gibson standard and not the studio
that way Ill will be happy years into the future.
I could still be happy with this but it is a matter of preferenceSome of the older Studios have thinner bodies (by about 1/4 to 3/8") which can affect the sound some.
I concur with 1), but not too sure about 3).....I'm of the opinion that the Studio is just as good as a Standard except for the cosmetics although at least the Studio has some nice inlay in the fretboard. If I could've afforded a Standard or Classic at the time I bought my used Studio (since then Gibson has put some nicer finishes on newer Studio models) I certainly would've jumped on one....a nice finish would always be cooler. However I'm happy with the way my mine plays and sounds after installing some bitchin' SD pups and giving it a good set-up and will never part with her.
What are these "tweaks" that you speak of?
