As well as being a guitarist, I fancy myself a bit of a tennis hack. Prolly cause I use the racket as a makeshift guitar instead of working on my backhand. But I digress.
I was watching the Indian Wells tennis tournament here in California when I saw a comercial for Gibson. It has a guy playing a LP stating... Lyrics = wasted time between solo's.
My point... and i'm sorry for taking so long to make it..... What kind of audiecnce is Gibson trying to reach?
I understand beer comercials during football games. I also understand ING financial services for Tennis and Golf... But Gibson guitars, for the snooty upper crusty tennis crowd?
Maybe i'm just posting tired late at night here, but each time it comes on I just can't help but think....... Are they really trying to reach retirement age housewives & grandmothers? Or am I just underestimating the appeal of tennis to our contries youth?
No real question here....... but, has anyone else seen these comercials? Any comments??
Or should I just suck back another beer and watch Rod**** and Hewitt battle it out?
