Although I'm not an Alt 8 user, I would like to mention a Kramer that is on the Gibson site. Since there was a recent discussion about these pickups, I am posting some of the pertinent information for you Alt 8 users.
Mahogany body with quilted-Maple top veneer
• Mahogany neck with SlimTaper™ profile
• Seymour Duncan® Alternative 8 (bridge) and Seymour Duncan® '59 classic (neck) pickups
• Original Floyd Rose™ tremolo with locking tuning system on Trans Red finish, Nashville-style string-through Tune-O-Matic bridge on Natural
• Locking premium die cast tuners with 14:1 tuning ratio
A ’59 in the neck position (with classic zebra coils on the Natural finished guitar) offers vintage-style output and rich, throaty tones with excellent articulation, while a contemporary styled Alternative 8® in the bridge position takes your solos and crunch rhythm work totally over the top. Made with over-wound coils and a mighty Ceramic 8 magnet, the Alternative 8® presents a huge, punchy sound with fat mids and excellent presence, without ever going muddy or shrill like some high-powered humbuckers.
