As everyone knows these guitars have been discontinued, and my chances of finding the V shaped voodoo are well...... non existant i found one once and they wanted £3000 for it so no chance ! this is one of my dream guitars it just looks so damn mean......is there any thing else out there like it either in looks or sound that i may not have seen :fingersx:

Re: Gibson voodoo

being that the body on all the voodoo guitars is made of ash they sound NOTHING like a "real" V or SG or Explorer or Les Paul they are much brighter.

maybe make one from Warmoth?

Both the feel and tone of a bolt-on versus a set-neck is astonishingly different.

Voodoo's weren't "rare" per se. Odds are they'll pop up now and again on eBay. Most of the real purists hated them so the odds are they've not been snapped up by collectors.

FWIW I played a "V" in Vegas when they had just came out with them and I totally dug it. It was a nice pairing of brighter wood and design.

Last I checked all they did was bolt-ons.

There's more to the construction of a proper set neck configuration than just having two peices of wood that fit together. The actual physical components are shaped differently and fit differently and function differently which results in, you guessed it, feeling differently when you play.

Go look at something with a set-neck and a bolt-on. The construction is vastly different between the two.
