Gibson Worn SG Prices

Hey SD friends!

I'm looking for a used Gibson Worn SG. I live up in the great white north of Canada (yes we have snow...NOW!) and I really want to find out the used price of a SG worn. The local Long and McQuade has one in stock right now for around $570 plus the taxes, but I would like to see how much I could (theoretically) pay at this stage in the game. I am only looking for prices, or how much you might have paid if you bought one used. If you can help me out drop me a line on this thread!

Thanks, and Rawk On;

Re: Gibson Worn SG Prices

Saw one yesterday on Fleabay for $599 US. Don't know if that is the accepted price or not.

Re: Gibson Worn SG Prices

If you can find a 2002 SG faded special with the crescent moon inlays on the web for around $600 would grab that fast, ebony fretboard fat 50s profile neck. I did a build on one of those last year and it turned into a monster after a full upgrade of all the hardware except the pickups. Think it is a 490 set but after adjusting the poles it came to life , a tiny bit of the sparkle could be from the fat stainless steel frets but that is minimal at best.

I picked up a later 00's SG Faded withe the dots, rosewood, and 60's neck for $450U.S. a couple of years ago

there is a 2003 one of these on ebay right now @ $450 right now though they did throw an EMG in the bridge

Re: Gibson Worn SG Prices

Damn... I think those prices are high. I would expect a decent shape 2002 - 2010 faded to run about $450. Mint and upgraded maybe $550, but at that price you are getting closer to a newer model.

Re: Gibson Worn SG Prices

I believe the faded were $700 or $800 new so that's not a bad price, they are far better quality than the newer entry level SGJ that cost $600 new

Re: Gibson Worn SG Prices

Rising prices of the new stuff is going to pull the used prices up as well. $570 for an American made guitar is not a bad price, as long as it's a good one.
