Some of those GF kits seem like a genuinely good idea. The set neck SG, especially. Pity that they did not see fit to offer a HH or HSH Telecaster.

Not in the same price range, but did you take a look at Carvin's kit ? My kit is one of the best playing instrument I own (out of 5 electrics).

I've heard really great things about their bolt-on kit and have eyed it for years. I'll get around to it one day. I love Carvins. Have yet to play one that didn't impress me in one way or another.
