Is this an open back cab, with access to the speaker jack(s).?
Can you get your meter on the jack.?
Sometimes it can be hard to make a good connection a the cable plug. It does not take much to give you crazy readings...touching the cable plug with both fingers/hands CAN also be a problem.

It is usually best to lay the plug on a flat surface, so you can bare down (lightly) with your meter probes.
If nothing seems to help. Try a NEW battery. Your present battery may read fine on a resistor, but struggle with 18 gauge wire and speaker coil.

If the speaker cone is moved at all while testing (wind, hand, etc) the reading will change.
