ginormous sings!

Re: ginormous sings!

I won't lie, I pictured you as having a deeper singing voice, but that sounds GREAT!! I dig the little shivery vibrato at the end of your lines. Smooth stuff, man!
I normally do, but she's into Luther Vandross so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Hey Ginormous! I'm not the best singer in the world but If you were to ask me to give you something to watch out for on your second run recording the vocal track, I'd say try to get a bigger breath when you breath. You know when someone's frightened and they gasp? Like that between phrases and pull in as much air as you can.

You're lucky, you have a nice vocal tone, some people can sing in tune but they sound like a nose is trying to vocalize.
Yeah, I rushed it trying to surprise her. It's a little apartment, so we can't hide much, not to mention my neighbors who can be a little non-music friendly. I'll go to a friend's house next time.

I'm a terrible singer, worse when rushed, i get you!

Re: ginormous sings!

Try this one.

I just did.

I agree with the comment about the stiff acoustic piano. If the performance exists as a MIDI file, I would replace the acoustic piano sound with a soft, electric piano patch - Rhodes or Wurli should do. A modulation effect would mellow things out nicely.

I was gonna suggest tweaking the velocities. I don't feel its in my place to say though, since this is awesome and better than anything I've recorded in years. Or ever.

Re: ginormous sings!

It sounds great to me and it comes across as from the heart! I also expected to hear a lower, gravely voice ... not that golden, smooth thing you have goin' on there, Reggie!

Man, I need to learn how to operate voice-correct in Reaper.
