I have a vintage Deluxe Memory Man (DMM) and have spent some time trying to nail that elusive Edge sound from U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name." The Edge uses two delays, one long and one short. I use the DMM for the shorter delay and a Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler for the longer one. These are my DMM settings:
- Keith
- Level 6:00 (second red line bottom)
- Blend 7:30 (if there were one black line below the first at the bottom)
- Feedback 6:00 (second red line bottom)
- Delay 10:30 (halfway between the second and third red lines from the top) – 349ms (172 bpm)
- Chorus-Vibrato 6:00 (second sliver line, bottom)
- Chorus-Vibrato switch set to “Chorus”
- Echo Out to Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler (used for longer delay - 531ms; one repeat)
