GMP owners?

Re: GMP owners?

I have a GMP Pawnshop Deluxe. The quality is very high. For example, they put threads into the body of the guitar for all screws to go into. So your not nervous about stripping the wood every time you take off the back plate or something. I can't think exactly how to phrase it, but it's a big plus. These guys only make about 100 guitars a year and they use the best quality of everything. Their customer is service is great, as well. I bought the guitar used, but they have done several set-ups for me as well as rewiring it and swaping pickup at very good prices. The Pawnshop Deluxe will not sound exactly like a Gibson Les Paul because it has a longer 25.5 scale. Infact all of their guitars have that scale. I have heard that you can get Les Paul tones out of a GMP Roxie. They are somewhat unique guitars and have a high cool factor.

Re: GMP owners?

I have played a gmp pawnshop deluxe and I can honestly say it is like butter. It feels like a well made guitar that has had alot of attention to detail paid to it. Not like some mass produced axe. GMP has to be one of, or the best playing guitars I have had the honor to put my hands on.

thanks for the input guys

Are you thinking of buying one? I just saw a PS Deluxe go for $1499 on ebay.

By the way, GMP are made in San Dimas, CA by some of the guys that worked for Charvel and Jackson in the glory days of those companys.

Re: GMP owners?

I have a bunchof GMP's and think they are the finest overall guitars made... the Roxie is just the hugest sounding guitar... if you are into the Les Paul vibe, the Pawnshop Deluxe is a killer!
