Hi,
I've had a Godin LG P90 for several years now. I bought it from another guy who pulled out the SD P90's in favor of some other pups. Today I decided that I didn't like the sound anymore, so I'm putting the SD P90's back in (and replacing all electronics while I'm at it). I asked these questions to Seymour Duncan and Godin customer service, but no response yet.
1. I can't find a wiring diagram for a guitar with the following:
- two (2) P90 customs
- a 3-way switch
- two (2) knobs (vol. & tone)
Every diagram I saw on this website was designed for four (4) knob guitars.
2. Every diagram I saw using P90's recommended 500k pots, with a disclaimer that 250k pots would be OK but would create a darker tone. If that is true, why did my Godin come stock with 250k pots??? Wouldn't it be better to use 500k pots if that's what the P90's were designed for? How does that affect the sound of the guitar (I don't know what "darker" means). I primarily play crunchy blues/rockabilly.
3. What is the capacitor for on one of the pots?
Thanks in advance. Anybody know a good guitar set-up guy in Los Angeles (90042)?
Anthony
