I play everything from van halen to killswitch engage to paul gilbert. Which is the better guitar in your opinion?

I would go with the ESP. If I am correct it has a set neck, which grants you more sustain and playability for your dollar. Additionally, it has better pickups. ESP all the way.

You should consider Schecters also, they are made in the same LTD factory and they are both owned by ESP... I've seen some HellRaisers for under a grand, with EMGs and OFR

like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/SCHECTER-HELLRA...53?pt=Guitar&hash=item45fa3487c5#ht_883wt_905

Yes, the hellraiser series is plain awesome. If your considering other options, the blackjack atx series beats all the ones named before, they have more versatility due to the SD blackouts.

Schecters quality is nowhere near Godin...

I vote redline...

While I don't like the look of the Redlines at all, Godin makes some of the best guitars out there, and you won't go broke either!

Godin's quality is pretty decent. They're great workhorse guitars . . .

Always been a fan of the LTD line, solid all the way around. Hold ujp resale value pretty well.
