Going to get some Wolfetone Marshallheads, a5 and a2 mags.

Wolfe got back to me yesterday. I'm chasing two sets for both my Lesters. I wanted something versatile that can go from blues to hardrock/metal in my 01 Standard and pretty much the same in my 08 Traditional but with more of an old school vibe to it. More classic rock to hard rock.

Wolfe suggested a set of Marshallheads with the a5 for the harder stuff and suggested another set of Marshallheads with a2 mags to give a similar tone but a bit smoother and creamier.

Sent him back a reply asking him about maybe a Dr V neck and Marshallhead a2 combo for more of a classic rock to hard rock axe. I Will be interested in what he comes back with. Stick with the Marshallhead neck or try the DR V.

Putting the a5 Marshallheads in this one with balanced 500k cts pots .022 PIO Vit Q caps modern wired.

The other undecided neck pickup with Marshallhead a2 bridge pickup in this one. Balanced 500k cts pots, .022 PIO Vit Q caps but vintage wired.

I just got off the phone with Wolfetone, I am looking at a Marshallhead-b Dr. V-n Alnico 2 set for my Les Paul.
I've never tried any Wolfes but I have heard nothing but the best things...

Just so you have a bad experience to draw from...

I put a set of Dr V's in my Les Paul & hated them.
Turned my LP into a mushy, thin sounding Tele with no punch or balls.
I really tried to like my expensive "boutique" PUs but after a couple weeks
of gigging & rehearsing I ended up going back to Master Seymour & couldn't be happier.

YMMV
