Love my '76 Ibanez Goldtop. Bolt on but for $75 on my birthday in 1987 and with the 21 year old Joe Perry autograph on Goldie I dig it.

Re: Gold Top Les Paul

For me - gold top equals =

1. 56 with wrap tailpeice and P-90's

2. Double cream SuperD's ala Tom Scholz

Re: Gold Top Les Paul

I had a P90 GT,nice guitar. I still have this 71 routed Deluxe. It got allthe wrong spec,pancake,volute,14degree headstock angle.I never went looking for a GT ,but if you play guitar rather then collect them, this is a superb instrument. It has glorious tone and a very organic fell. It's a great players Les Paul.

I Love my 1990 Les Paul Classic Goldtop "Model". The neck is a little on the skinny side but I dig it. Smallest LP neck I've ever felt! I wish it was checked like Dano's......Or marantz1300's

Give it a few years and it will be.The direction of the checking changes with different angles and can't be seen at all from some..I've had two Classics, the early 90's are meant to be particuarly good.

The old vintage crackled finish is kinda cool, but I want mine pristine/shiney/glossy/brand-new-looking forever. I just love that glossy gold finish.
