Goldie...meet Goldie

Been using my LP GoldTop with my Bogner, totally found THE sound I was looking for. I picked up a Firebird Studio as a backup and to alternate beetwen sets. The Firebird is such a totally different animal, I love the tone and the look, but it's a tough adjustment. I saw GoldTop Teles a while ago in my Tele phase, similar to my Tele-Gib. Sold all of them and now I own a GoldTop Tele, the color is very close, the neck is a slim Gibsonish feel, carved top, set neck and it's light as hell. I pulled the Duncans outta the Bird, the stock Dimarzzios were OK, but I dug the Duncan tones so in they went. I hooked up the coil split, very Strat quackish...nice! The Tele (more Tele-Gib) is doing drop D duty until I get comfy with it, then I'll be using it more, dig the light weight. Build quality is amazing, wish my LP had the same dark back. I'm a Tele guy again!

Man, I've said that many times!

Nice pair of goldies! What brand is the Tele anyway?

Me too!

That is a Fender, it was a run they did a few years ago. Only change I could make would be toggle location otherwise the LP lovers Tele all the way.

Re: Goldie...meet Goldie

setneck fender? perfect mix of gibson/fender parts(the fender neck and body, gibson tone and construction)?! i must have one too!!!!

hehe, well I had to say that out loud at least once in my life!:11: I'll see how long that lasts. Thanks again guys, everything on Saturdays gig seemed to just click, my amp, guitar and pedals...you know how it feels when you nail your tones...I was stoked, rhythm and leads were just how I wanted it. Got comps on my tone from a couple of really good players so at least I know the tone I'm going for is pleasing on critical ears. Was also the first time this club had a pro soundman working the board so the overall band sound was great too. I think I found my 'mojo'...hehe, thanks theodie

Those guitars really match each other well. Always good to hear guitarist find their perfect setup.

Re: Goldie...meet Goldie

Goldtops come alive once the stage lights hit them.

Fender should make more strats and teles in that color.
