Finally solved my pickup dilemma today. The stock pups in my Epi Explorer were too weak, not enough distortion. Allegedly they were some type of Gibson PAF. So then I got an Invader, which was a waste. The pup didn't seem to have any real volume or sustain and I had to use my RAT to get it to sound halfway decent. Not to mention the Invader was causing the neck pup to sound really weak too. I was going to give up on this guitar all together, but I decided to give it one more chance and installed a DiMarzio Super Distortion. Finally :smack: Now I'm getting the tone I was hoping for all along. It still makes me wonder though if I got a defective Invader, by all accounts it should have worked. Anyway my pup drama is over. Now to go find an Ampeg Dan Armstrong Plexi :saeek:
