Good 6L6 power amps

Ok I am an EL34 kinda guy. But I am really into this bright and tight huge bass the Soldano and Engl have with their 6L6s. So here is a Q inspired by a two amps at once thread. What if I will put my beloved CS9 chorus into EFX loop of my AOR one send from the pedal will go back to AOR's power amp and another to a power amp with the 6L6s that give that kind of soldanish-english bottom end and sent the outs from AOR and the power amp into my JCM900 4X12 which has the stereo option. What do ya' think?

It might siphon some of the signal off by splitting it. You could try it though with 2 of your amps. Do the same thing, but send Chorus B to the power amp in on another amp.

If you have an amp with a DI out, you can run that into the power amp in on something else.

If I had a chorus pedal I would be able to tell you what it's like with an AOR series II and Mesa Boogie Fifty/Fifty poweramp. I don't think my AOR loop even works properly though. Last time I tried to use that things loop all I got was hideous ground loop hum.

It's hard to say you'll get a Soldano-ish vibe with adding a 6L6 poweramp. The AOR preamp voicing doesn't seem anywhere near that.

Sorry to hear that dude, sounds like you've got the entire bouqet of issues that AOR series II has a bad rep for. I think that 6L6s carry a very tight and bright bottom end that at the same time translates into some thin and brittle overtones on the treble strings. That's why I am EL34/E34Ls/KT77 kinda a guy for the most part. Not that I think about it, on paper it sounds perfect, an AOR pre-amp through EL34s and 6L6s with in one cab !!! GASSSS !!!!

Don't know if your idea will work but if you want 6L6 and Engl vibe why not just get one of the three available Engl Poweramps?

Engl power amp would be sweet, but it aint in the budget. Boy do I wanna try it.
