Good amps for pedal paleting?

Hey guys. I'm gonna be selling my two Dean EVO's and my Roland VGA3 pretty soon. With that money, I'm looking to getting a tube amp. Since I play a lot of different styles of music, I figured I should look into an amp that takes really well to pedals. Some sort of single channel amp maybe or an amp with a good clean channel that takes well to pedals. I know the Fender Hot Rod takes well to pedals, but what are some other non Fender amps that also do this? I still need to be able to get a decent clean, but also a good distortion for Prog Metal type stuff. Suggestions?

I've heard some Soldanos take well to pedals. Search around on MusiciansFriend, I know that's where I saw it.

Yeah, I'm going to look into the Soldano Avenger. Basically a single channel Soldano SLO-100.

there's a VHT Pitbull in the Trading Post that's worth checking out

The Carvin Legacy seems to be made for pedals, it takes them extraordinarily well.
