Good match for a Perpetual Burn in the neck?

My Purple DC 127 and so far have had several pickups in it. Right now has a Pearly Gates set in it but is to harsh and bright for that particular guitar. Have had a Sentient neck the gates and it came with a set of ceramic mag Dimarzios. The Sentient I love but was a little harsh and sterile sounding in that particular guitar. She is a maple neck through Alder body withgs and the quilt top jumbo SS frets ebony board and a hardtail. Had a PB in it was not a great tonal match with the Gates and then found a screaming deal on a PG Trembucker locally so pulled the PB and dropped it back in my 2017 Kiesel DC. Love that pickup in that guitar it will not leave again. Also really liked the PB in the hardtail Purple guitar so now have a PB Trembucker incoming and am trying to decide on what to do in the neck. Plan to run the 2 DC's as a par with the PB in both on stage. Thought about a mag swap to A 5 as the PB is fatter and smoother sounding plus the Gates neck is a little weak and thin when used with the PB. Have a couple 59's really want fatter and smoother than a Jazz and the Sentient was a little bland in this particular guitar( LOVE them in Mahogany or KOA though!!)
Suggestions?

I have a BW set installed in my Jackson DK2 and, by far and large, BW neck has the highest output compared to my other neck HBs. I mean, it's sitting lower than the other neck humbuckers I have (Jazz, FS and 59/Jazz combo) yet this pickup is LOUD. I'm not sure I'd be able to pair it with anything than a really hot bridge humbucker.

I haven't tried the PB so I may be speaking out of turn, but the SNS neck might be worth checking out.

Love the SNS's as a set and have had a couple should have pulled teh Zebra set out of my ST 300 Carvin before I sold it and used them in this guitar in fact. Have a set in my Carvin AE 185 now and they really work in that guitar. However I have found they don't tonally balance well with a PB as have tried the combo before. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've paired the PB with a Whole Lotta Humbucker with really good results. The Slash neck is a good option. This may sound a bit out there, but try another PB in the neck for kicks.

The Whole Lotta is one I have been looking at seriously so thanks for that. Slash neck is out as need short legs and 4 conductor so would have to go to the Custom Shop. Am looking hard at a APII bridge though for the neck with the PB in the bridge.
A PB bridge would be to hot for me sweet spot for me in the neck seems to be below 9K and 280mv or under in output.

The A2P bridge would be pretty nice in the neck I would think. I like a hotter wound neck pickup, above 8K, and the WLH neck is just that (8.2K), as is the A2P bridge (8.4K).

Just pulled the trigger on a new Zebra Whole Lotta neck that Banjo Mike had on ebay for a steal ( had big discounts on several pickups and bought both the PB and the WLH from Mike). Thanks guys for your responses and insight. I will let you know how it works out when I get the WLH next week and install both it and the PB.

Even though I think you meant it as a joke at the time, it was you who gave me the idea of matching a PB with a Jazz, to make a PB&J. I've got both sitting here, (thanks to Jeremy for loaning me a Jazz bridge). Just gotta decide what guitar to try it in. Should be sweet.

Yes, please do it. :D

Seriously Artie if you do it let me know how it sounds!

Might also be doing this one. Bought a Whole Lotta from Banjo Mike on his close out but there was a mistake the WLH had been sold. Mike called me and the only Zebra I wanted he still had was a Jazz, I know that I can swap the mag to make it a Alnico II Pro so we cut a deal on the Jazz neck instead. Dang I hate it on Mike dropping Duncan as he stocked floor custom stuff no one else would!! Just about every Duncan pickup that was bought new came from Mike and we know each other pretty well.

Why he is dropping Seymour Duncan? I've bought quite a few pickups from him in the past. When I was looking for a Zebra Custom Custom last year, he was the only one that had it in stock.

Mike and i know each other but i don't want to get into it as its hear say. Ask him and also if you need anything might want to see if he has it in what he has left. I stole a Zebra Perpet over the last week and when I found out why he was selling so cheap snagged a neck also. It's a huge loss IMO because he stocked floor custom stuff no one else would like Custom 8's as an example plus pickups like the Zebra Sentient neck I just sold and the SNS Trembucker that is in my AE 185. Stuff like this will now be very hard to find if not impossible without going directly to the Custom Shop for a floor custom unfortunately with out Mike. He is still stocking Dimarzio but--.

He complained about Duncan whenever I was in the shop, even when I was buying one. His sales were 80% DiMarzio a couple years ago according to him, take that for whatever you want.
